SAN DIEGO – Just five games into the season, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic cut what had started as a successful 2020 season for the San Diego State lacrosse team short. From playing on March 8 to competitions suspended and then canceled just four days later, many of the Aztec lacrosse seniors saw their chance at becoming three-time Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) champions slip through their fingers.

The 2020 roster included ten senior athletes who each impacted the young Aztec lacrosse program from the moment they stepped on campus: Morgan Taylor, Marissa MacRae, Emily Resnick, Taylor Sullivan, Kay Kay Greskovich, Gabbie Garrison, Sarah McDonagh, Julia Masias, Amanda Stapp and Katy Sharretts.

With the March 30 decision by the NCAA, all 10 of the Aztecs' seniors were afforded the extension of eligibility for an additional season of competition due to the crisis. The decision by the athletic governing body effectively allowed all seniors the option to return to San Diego State for an additional year of donning the Scarlet and Black. But while competition on the field was canceled, efforts in the classroom were not. Many of the SDSU lacrosse seniors completed their degrees and graduated from the university just last Saturday.

Head Coach Kylee White gave each of the seniors an option to return for another season on The Mesa. For a variety of reasons, six members of the team will not be returning for an additional year.

Taylor, MacRae, Greskovich, McDonagh, Masias and Stapp will each make the transition into life post-collegiate athletics while Resnick, Sullivan, Garrison and Sharretts will return to San Diego State for an additional academic and athletic campaign.

Without a proper senior day to celebrate these seniors' successes, SDSU Athletics wants to honor the dedication and hard work of the seniors that will and will not be returning to campus this fall.

Below are profiles on each of the Aztecs' 10 seniors with highlights of their time on The Mesa.
