The San Diego State baseball team entered the 2020 campaign with lofty expectations, compiling a 10-6 record against a challenging schedule before the season was abruptly canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Below is a look back at the Aztecs' season by the numbers.

(Feb. 15) before splitting a four-game home series with 2018 champion Oregon State (Feb. 29, March 1).

Additional Notes
>> Along with consensus preseason All-America recognition, Casey Schmitt earned a spot on USA Baseball's Golden Spikes Award Watch List in early February. With his selection, Schmitt became the fourth Aztec player since 2008 to land on the preseason Golden Spikes Award Watch List, joining Michael Cederoth (2014), Addison Reed (2010) and Stephen Strasburg, who took home the top prize in 2009. Not to be outdone, Tyler Adkison landed on the GSA mid-season watch list in 2017.
>> In addition to defeating three ranked teams, San Diego State knocked off three schools from Power 5 conferences. The Aztecs opened with a come-from behind victory over Virginia Tech at the Brittain Resorts Battle at the Beach tournament in Conway, S.C. (Feb. 14), before toppling Iowa and Nebraska on consecutive nights at home as part of the Tony Gwynn Legacy (Feb. 21-22).
