The 2019-20 Aztec men's basketball team enjoyed an historic year. When the season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Aztecs were the No. 6 ranked team in the nation, had a 30-2 record and had earned the Mountain West regular-season title with a 17-1 mark, the best conference record in league history.
The last victory of the regular season came on Feb. 29 in an 83-76 decision over the Nevada Wolf Pack in Reno, Nev.
In the first episode of a continuing series, Matt Soria, assistant AD for basketball operations, is joined by Adam Seiko, KJ Feagin, Yanni Wetzell, Malachi Flynn and Jordan Schakel in breaking down the game, giving fans insight into what it took to earn the victory and what the players see and feel as the game is happening.
