San Diego State compiled a 15-14 record in 2019, improving its victory total by five games from the previous campaign. In addition, the 15-14 ledger marked the Aztecs' sixth winning season in the last nine years. SDSU also finished fifth in the Mountain West with an 8-10 mark in conference play after it was pegged for an eighth-place standing in the preseason MW coaches poll.

Below is a look back at the Aztecs' 2019 campaign by the numbers:
 

1Tamia Reeves led the Mountain West in all matches with .404 hitting percentage, which ranked 10th in the nation. That figure also marked SDSU's second-highest single-season hitting percentage in program history behind Jennifer Hamilton (.412, 1995).
2The Aztecs defeated two Power 5 schools, West Virginia and Arkansas, in five-set thrillers at the Aztec Invitational in early September.
3San Diego State garnered three all-Mountain West accolades: Tamia Reeves, Hannah Turnlund and Camryn Machado.
5As a team, the Aztecs finished among the top half of the Mountain West in five statistical categories, including assists per set (2nd, 12.40), digs per set allowed (2nd, 11.54), hitting percentage (3rd, .236), kills per set (3rd, 13.05) and blocks per set allowed (3rd, 2.12).
8SDSU landed eight volleyball players on the Mountain West all-academic team for the fall semester: Lauren Lee, Maddie Lenn, Sam McGrath, Victoria O'Sullivan, Loren Teter, Hannah Turnlund and Andrea Walker.
9Aztec players found themselves among the Mountain West individual top 10 in nine statistical categories for all matches, including Tamia Reeves (1st - (.404 hitting pct.), 10th - 0.95 blocks/set), Camryn Machado (2nd - 10.62 assists/set), Hannah Turnlund (4th - 3.45 kills/set, 5th - 3.68 points/set), Victoria O'Sullivan (6th - 3.20 kills/set, 9th - 3.50 points/set), Loren Teter (7th, 3.61 digs/set) and Andrea Walker (10th - (.308 hitting pct.)).
14 Camryn Machado led the Scarlet and Black with 14 double-doubles on the year, including a 56-assist, 16-dig performance in the Aztecs' five-set nail-biter over San José State.
24Hannah Turnlund blasted a career-high 24 kills in a narrow five-set loss at Florida Gulf Coast, tying for the sixth-highest individual total in the MW this past season and tying for the eighth-most by an Aztec player since 2002.
53Camryn Machado dished out 53 helpers in a 3-1 victory at Utah State, which represented the second-highest assist total in a four-set match in the Mountain West this past year.
.236San Diego State posted a collective .236 hitting percentage, which ranked third in the Mountain West and marked the second-best clip by an Aztec team since the 2002 season.
1,123Hannah Turnlund surpassed the 1,000-kill plateau for her career, finishing with 1,123 put-aways in an Aztec uniform, which ranks 12th in program history.
3,148Hannah Turnlund also wrapped up her illustrious collegiate career with 3,148 attack attempts, which ranks ninth on the Aztecs' all-time list.




































 
Additional Notes* Camryn Machado earned Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 2.
* Machado and Hannah Turnlund were named to the all-tournament team at Florida Gulf Coast's season-opening Homewood Suites Fort Myers Classic.
* Machado was also an all-tournament selection at the Grand Canyon Invitational.
* Tamia Reeves received Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 7.
* Following the season, Brent Hilliard was named the fifth head coach in Aztec women's volleyball history on Jan. 31, 2020.
* Just over two weeks later, Hillard added volleyball legend Steve Timmons to his coaching staff on Feb. 15, 2020.
