SAN DIEGO – San Diego State lacrosse redshirt senior goalkeeper Katy Sharretts and freshman attacker Camdyn O'Donnell were named MPSF Players of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Sharretts was recognized for her defensive efforts for the third consecutive week, while O'Donnell earned honors as the league's best newcomer for the period ending March 1.

Freshman Camdyn O'Donnell captured a balanced stat line, assisting the Aztecs in their second win over a Pac-12 opponent in 2020 when they bested California 16-11, Feb. 28. Her goal and four ground balls were a part of the SDSU offense that outshot the Golden Bears and a defense that stifled Cal to just 21 shots on goal. The Poway, Calif. native added six shots to the Scarlet and Black's offensive attack, as SDSU holds the nation's 27th-best shot total throughout the 2020 season. The first-year collegiate player has the most assists, assists per game and points by a freshman in the conference this season.

Redshirt senior goalkeeper Katy Sharretts had another fantastic week guarding the net for the Aztecs, totaling five ground balls to go along with her second consecutive 10-plus save game. The senior led a SDSU defense that outperformed the Golden Bears in saves (10-to-8) and ground balls (30-to-26).  Sharretts tops the league in saves (43) and ground balls per game (3.5) while sitting just two saves shy of the program's saves in a career record (currently 405 set by Katrina Reeves from 2014-17).

The Aztecs continue their three-game homestand when they welcome George Mason to town for a Sunday matinee at Aztec Lacrosse Field. Opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m. and free shirts will be available for the first 300 fans in attendance.
