SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State athletic department and San Diego State University, based on guidance from the NCAA COVID-19 advisory panel and local and state health agencies, announced today new protocols regarding home events.
Beginning immediately, all San Diego State home events will be limited, for both San Diego State and its opponent, to the following individuals:
- Participating Student-Athletes
- Coaches
- Officials
- Essential Game-Management Staff
- Media
- Student-Athletes' Families
- San Diego State Recruits
At this time, there is no indication that the SDSU campus is affected. However, out of an abundance of caution, these preventive measures are being taken to ensure the well-being of the campus and regional community. With the health, safety and well-being of the entire San Diego State community as well as the broader San Diego region as the top priority, the athletic department will continue to work with the University as well as NCAA and local health officials to ensure that best practices are being followed and if additional precautions are advised.
