FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – San Diego State's sophomore diver Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez qualified for the NCAA Championships on the 1-meter springboard today with her seventh-place finish at the NCAA Zone E Championships, held at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
 
All seven of the Aztecs' divers competed in the 1-meter preliminaries Monday, where the top 18 finishers moved onto the final rounds to compete for one of 12 spots in the NCAA Championships. Lechuga Gonzalez led all Aztecs with a tenth-place preliminary finish of 268.15. She would move onto the finals and finish seventh overall with a total score of 562.20, earning a finals score of 294.50.
 
Senior Delaney Gallagher would collect SDSU's next-best finish, earning a score of 223.85, good for 32nd place.
 
Sophomore Gina Cazares finished 34th in prelims with a score of 220.40, followed by fellow sophomore Lexi Letts placing 40th with a score of 208.55, senior Marie Yacopino earning a 41st-place effort with a score of 207.20, sophomore Gillian Garcia placing 43rd with a score of 203.45 and junior Erica Sarver placing 45th with a score of 200.30.
 
San Diego State's divers hit the springboard again tomorrow, competing on the 3-meter at 11:30 a.m./3 p.m.
