Aztec Softball Returns Home to Co-Host San Diego Classic This Weekend
The San Diego State softball team looks to get back to its winning ways this weekend when it co-hosts the four-day, 10-team, 27-game San Diego Classic with San Diego. 

The tournament will feature the Aztecs (11-7) and the Toreros, along with No. 1/1 UCLA, Brown, CSUN, Long Beach State, Mount St. Mary's, North Dakota, San José State, St. John's and Weber State.

SDSU, which is receiving votes in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, will play games with Weber State at 7 p.m. PT Friday, St. John's (2 p.m. PT) and No. 1/1 UCLA (7 p.m. PT) on Saturday, and CSUN at 2 p.m. PT Sunday. Altogether, 13 games will be held at SDSU Softball Stadium over the weekend with five games set for Friday and Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. PT, and three on Sunday with a 9 a.m. PT start.

Junior Taylor Adams leads San Diego State with a .328 average and five doubles, while adding 11 runs, six RBIs and three runs. Freshman Sadie Langlet (.320) is also hitting over .300 for the Aztecs, while junior Kelsey Munoz (.395, 10 R, 9 RBI), senior Kiera Wright (.281, 6 R, 5 SB) and senior Shelby Thompson (.267, 4 HR, 13 RBI, 13 R) have also been the team's top offensive players.

SDSU has been impressive in the circle as well, particularly by the play of sophomore Hannah Johnson (3-1, 2.00 ERA, 28.0 IP, 19 K, .192 opp. avg.), junior Maggie Balint (4-3, 2 SV, 2.30 ERA, 51.2 IP, 76 K, .169 opp. avg.) and senior Marissa Moreno (3-1, 2.77 ERA, 30.1 IP, 32 K, .262 opp. avg.).

On Wednesday night, San Diego State lost a pitchers' duel at California Baptist, 1-0, in eight innings in a game that featured a combined 22 strikeouts and just seven hits.
