SAN DIEGO -- Former San Diego State players Daniel Brunskill, Alex Barrett and David Wells are headed to Super Bowl LIV in Miami.

The trio helped the Aztecs to a pair of Mountain West titles in 2015 and 2016.

Brunskill played in 14 regular-season games this season for the San Francisco 49ers, starting seven times on the offensive line. He has also played in both playoff games heading into Sunday's match-up with the Kansas City Chiefs. A former walk-on, Brunskill was a four-year letter winner with the Aztecs from 2013-16, earning second-team all-Mountain West honors at right tackle in 2016 and honorable-mention accolades in 2015 as a tight end. Brunskill was also a three-time academic all-league selection (2014-16), and SDSU's recipient of the President's Award (athletic and academic achievement) in 2016, Offensive Lineman of the Year award in 2016 and Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year in 2012.

Barrett, meanwhile, is on the San Francisco practice squad. Like Brunskill, Barrett lettered at San Diego State from 2013-16. The defensive lineman was a three-time all-league selection, making the first team in 2015 and 2016, and earning honorable-mention recognition in 2014. Barrett was a team captain in 2016, and was the Aztecs' Defensive Lineman of the Year three straight years from 2014-16.

On the other side of the field will be Wells, who is currently on Kansas City's reserve/injured list. Wells, who earned four letters at SDSU from 2014-17, took over for Brunskill at tight end and finished his career as a two-time second-team all-MW selection (2016-17). Wells was a two-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete (2016-17), a four-time academic all-MW pick (2014-17) and the recipient of San Diego State's President's Award in 2017.

The 49ers and Chiefs play at 6:30 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
