Aztec Tidbits
• With a 5-6 record in Mountain West play, the Aztecs are in sixth place. The top five teams receive a first-round bye at the MW Tournament. Five of SDSU's seven remaining regular-season games are against teams that are below them in the standings.
• The Aztecs beat New Mexico 75-74 Wednesday in their annual field trip game. SDSU led by eight points with 25 seconds left only to see the Lobos go on a 9-0 run in a 16-second span. After New Mexico took the lead with nine seconds left, they mistakenly fouled Sophia Ramos, who calmly hit both free throws and then SDSU got one more defensive stop to hold on for the dramatic victory.
• Ramos led the Aztecs with 32 points and 11 rebounds, both career-highs, and was a perfect 16-for-16 from the free throw line.
• Ramos' 16 made free throws tied a school record set by Tina Hutchinson 36 years ago (1-10-84 vs. CS Fullerton) and she became just the second player in the nation to make at least 16 free throws without a miss in a game this season.
• SDSU set an all-time attendance record for a women's basketball game Wednesday with 5,320 fans, topping the 5,271 that witnessed the Aztecs play No. 2 UConn in 2007.
• San Diego State is shooting 44.4 percent from the field in conference play, tops in the Mountain West.
• The Aztecs' overall shooting percentage of 41.9 percent would be the program's best since the 2012-13 season.
• SDSU is shooting 34.9 percent from three, that would be the program's best in 26 years (.355, 1993-94).
• Taylor Kalmer has scored in double-digits in 17 straight games, the longest streak by an Aztec since 2012-13 when Courtney Clements did it in 18 straight games.
• Taylor Kalmer is top three in the conference in minutes per game (1st, 37.14), field goals made (2nd, 136) and field goal attempts (2nd, 305) and points (3rd, 348).
• Zayn Dornstauder is shooting 58.1 percent from the floor on the season, which would be the sixth best field goal percentage in a single-season in school history (min. 100 attempts).
• As of Thursday, Taylor Kalmer and Sophia Ramos are first and third in the nation in total minutes played.
• Freshman Isabela Hernandez is shooting 43.2 percent (19-44) from three on the season. If she maintains that pace and reaches 50 attempts, that would be the second-best in a single-season in school history.
• SDSU is top three in the MW in three-point percentage,  blocks per game, total rebounds, and free throws made and attempted.
