SAN DIEGO – San Diego State's swimming and diving team sends its divers to the Northern Arizona Diving Invitational #2 Friday, Jan. 31 through Saturday, Feb. 1, hosted by the Lumberjacks in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Earlier this season, the Aztecs attended the NAU Diving Invite #1, securing two spots on the podium in the 3-meter dive. SDSU has seen much success over the years at the event, as they previously brought the invitational's title back to the Mesa during the 2018-19 season.

At the event, the Aztecs compete against the Idaho Vandals and host Northern Arizona in the 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform dive. There are a total of seven divers representing SDSU, including sophomore Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez who lead the Aztecs in the first invitational with a team-high preliminary heat score of 306.5 in the 3-meter competition. The sophomore's most recent action saw her set the program and pool record with a score of 383.03 in the same event against the University of San Diego, Jan. 24.

SDSU's divers enter the weekend coming off of a victorious senior day match against the Toreros on Friday, Jan. 24, where the entire team qualified for the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships on both the 1 and 3-meter dive. The tri-meet action in Flagstaff acts as the final bit of regular-season action for the Aztecs before they travel to the Mountain West Championships, scheduled to run from Feb. 19-22.
