SAN DIEGO – A number of activities are on tap for San Diego State football's final regular-season game on Saturday against Brigham Young, which is slated to kick off at 6 p.m. PT inside SDCCU Stadium.
Along with Senior Night festivities, the SDSU-BYU clash has been designated as a "Blackout" game, and all fans are encouraged to wear black to the game in support of the Aztecs. Fan Appreciation Night will be also celebrated in Mission Valley on Saturday, with random rows of the stadium receiving prize packs throughout the game.
Additionally, the first 1,000 students will be given a complimentary SDSU clear tote bag on the Plaza Level, Section 44, when stadium gates open at 4 p.m.
As usual, the Wells Fargo Aztec Village will serve as the nucleus for pregame festivities, running from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in Lots C1/D1 of the SDCCU Stadium parking lot. Entrance to the village is free to the public and there will be food and beverage options for purchase, as well as a live DJ, along with a Kids Zone featuring carnival rides, inflatable games and a chance to take pictures with select costumed movie characters.
In addition, the Aztec Village Beer Fest will be held during that time for fans 21 years of age or older. Among the breweries scheduled to be on hand are Stone Brewing, Aztec Brewing, Mike Hess Brewing, Oggi's Pizza and Brewhouse and Cerveza Xteca. Tickets to the beer fest may be purchased at the door for $20 or online for $15 at https://oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/sdsu/EN/buy/details/F19BF. Admission includes a free San Diego State 5 oz. souvenir cup and five taster tokens to use at a participating brewery of one's choice. All proceeds from the beer fest will benefit the Aztec Club in support of SDSU student-athlete scholarships.
Prior to the game, the Aztec Cheer and Dance teams will conduct their annual all-ages clinic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will attend an instructional clinic, where they will learn a sideline cheer and dance to be performed later during halftime. All registrants will receive a free T-shirt to wear for the performance, admission to the game plus two additional game tickets for family and friends. At approximately 3:45 p.m., fans will be afforded the opportunity to greet the Aztecs during their traditional Warrior Walk, which is scheduled to commence between Lots E and F, led by Honor Warrior Freddy Keiaho, who earned a Super Bowl ring as a rookie during the 2006 season with the Indianapolis Colts.
A native of Ventura, California, Keiaho was a four-year letterwinner at San Diego State from 2002-2005, starting 12 of 41 games at linebacker after signing with the Aztecs out of high school as a fullback. During his collegiate career, Keiaho amassed 154 tackles, including 98 solo stops, to go with 17 tackles for loss, 2 ½ sacks, two fumble recoveries and four blocked kicks. As a senior he garnered first-team all-Mountain West Conference accolades after recording a team-high 113 tackles, including 68 solo efforts, four passes defensed, one interception and a blocked punt return for a touchdown.
A third-round choice of the Colts in the 2006 NFL Draft, Keiaho played four seasons in Indianapolis, starting 27 games in 55 career appearances. His best season statistically occurred in 2008, when he recorded 105 tackles, including 79 solo stops, to go with five tackles for loss and three fumble recoveries in 14 starts.
Fans are encouraged to arrive in their seats on Saturday early to avoid missing the Aztecs' pregame recognition of this year's senior class, which will be followed by a Coast Guard flyover at the end of the national anthem.
Tickets are still available for the SDSU-BYU clash. The Aztec Ticket Office, located at SDCCU Stadium Window E, will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving, but will re-open on Friday, Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. On Saturday, the SDCCU Stadium parking lot and Aztec Ticket Office will open at 1 p.m.; however, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to avoid long lines on game day.
