Aztecs Knocked Off at UCSB 64-52

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Aztec women's basketball team (3-4) fell at UC Santa Barbara (3-3) Tuesday evening.

Téa Adams led the Aztecs with 14 points on 6-for-10 shooting. Taylor Kalmer added 11 points and Mallory Adams chipped in 10.

SDSU fell behind by four points in the first quarter but took a one-point lead entering the second quarter after Monique Terry hit a three at the buzzer.

After a defensive battle in the second quarter, the Gauchos held a one-point edge at the halftime break (27-26).

A Monique Terry three-pointer tied the game at 39-39 late in the third quarter but the Gauchos responded with a 7-0 run and never relinquished the lead. UCSB would outscore SDSU 18-11 in the fourth quarter.

The Gauchos were paced by Tal Sahar's 21 points. Ila Lane had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds and Aliceah Hernandez had 12 points.

The Aztecs were outscored 37-26 in the second half and 18-11 in the fourth quarter.

SDSU was outrebounded 42-32.

THE NOTE
UC Santa Barbara has won the last three meetings with the Aztecs but SDSU holds an 18-9 advantage in the all-time series.
