SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's basketball team (3-2) hosts California (1-2) Thursday at 6:30 p.m. PT inside Viejas Arena. The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network with Chris Ello on the call.

Aztec Tidbits
• The Aztecs are coming off a 55-45 win over Cal State Fullerton last Sunday. SDSU held the Titans to 28 percent shooting from the field and outrebounded them 51-41.
• The Aztecs are averaging just 11.6 personal fouls this season, the fourth best in the nation. This has led them to 14 more made free throws than their opponent have attempted. Through five games, SDSU is 69-100 from the line and their opponents are 35-55.
• SDSU is holding their opponents to 19.1 percent from three-point territory, 13th in the nation. No team has shot better than 25 percent from deep against the Aztecs and SDSU has held three opponents below 20 percent. Teams are averaging just 4.4 made three-pointers per game against the Aztecs.
• Mallory Adams had 14 points and 12 rebounds against Cal State Fullerton last Sunday. This was her 10th career double-double and 16th time hauling in 10 or more rebounds.
• San Diego State received votes in the preseason Coaches' Poll, marking the first time since 2012 the Aztecs have been recognized in a national poll.
• The Aztecs were picked to finish fifth in the Mountain West preseason poll, their highest preseason ranking since 2013, Coach Terry-Hutson's first year on The Mesa.
• SDSU finished with 14 wins in the 2018-19 season, the most they have had under head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson.
• The Aztecs return eight letterwinners and four starters from last year's team, led by the sophomore duo of Sophia Ramos and Mallory Adams, who both were selected to the Mountain West All-Freshman Team last season.
• SDSU returns 74 percent of their scoring and 81 percent of their rebounding from a season ago. Aranxta Gómez Ferrer graduated, and Najé Murray transferred to Cal.
• The Aztecs shot 36.4 percent from three last year, their best mark since 1994 and the third best percentage in school history.

Noting the Cal State Fullerton Game (W, 55-45, 11-17-19)
• The Aztecs held Cal State Fullerton to 3-of-20 shooting from three-point range. On the year, opponents are shooting just 19 percent from deep against SDSU.
• Cal State Fullerton's Raina Perez had nine field goals while the rest of the Titans had 10.
• Fullerton attempted just five free throws. This was the third time in five games, the Aztecs have held their opponent to six free throw attempts or less.
• The Titans didn't have a quarter where they shot better than 33 percent.
• Taylor Kalmer has scored at least 10 points in four of SDSU's five games this season. She scored in double-digits 11 times in her first 80 career games at Oregon State.
• Mallory Adams finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds. This was her 10th career double-double and her 16th time having 10 or more rebounds.
• Adams' 12 rebounds were the most by an Aztec so far this season.
• After having four or more players score double-digits in their first three games, SDSU has only had two players with 10 or more points in their last two contests.
• The Aztecs have now beaten the Titans in their last 11 meetings.
 
Opponent Notebook (California)
• The Golden Bears are 1-2. They began the year with losses at Harvard (53-56) and No. 5 UConn (61-72) and beat UC Riverside (84-61) last Sunday.
• They went 20-13 last season and 9-9 in the Pac-12.
• They qualified for the NCAA Tournament and lost in the second round at No. 1 Baylor.
• They return eight letterwinners but just one starter from last year. They lost four-time All-American Kristine Anigwe to graduation (No. 9 pick in the WNBA Draft).
• The Bears were picked to finish 11th in the Pac-12 preseason coaches poll.
• Sara Anastasieka leads the Bears in scoring through three games, averaging 16.3 points per game. She is shooting 47 percent from three.
• CJ West is averaging 8.0 points and a team-high 8.0 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench.
• Cal is coached by Charmin Smith who is in her first year as head coach after serving as an assistant at Cal for 12 years.
