SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State rowing team will compete in the final event of its fall slate on Sunday, Nov. 10, at the San Diego Fall Classic. The regatta, hosted by the San Diego Rowing Club, will take place on Mission Bay.
The Aztecs are entering five boats in the competition, with three in the open eight race, one in the open four and one in novice eight contest. The first event for SDSU begins at 7:45 a.m. with the open eight race, followed by the novice eight at 9:10 a.m. The Aztecs' final race will be the open four at 10:45 a.m.
In the open eight, the Aztecs will face crews from Orange Coast College, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and University of San Diego. In the novice eight, SDSU is set to race boats from Arizona State, USC, OCC, LBSU, and USD. In the final race, the open four, the Aztecs will go against USC, USD, ASU, Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara.
The Aztecs enter their final fall regatta coming off a dominant showing at the 19th annual Row for the Cure two weeks ago, where the team claimed top finishes in all three of its races: the open eight, novice eight and open four.
Results from Sunday's event will be posted on GoAztecs.com. All spectators are welcomed and encouraged to watch the race from the Crown Point Shores staging and finish line areas. Parking is $10.
