SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State football team is ranked 24th in both the AP Top 25 Poll and the Amway Coaches Poll. The Aztecs (7-1, 4-1 MW), who were idle last week, moved up on spot in the AP Top 25 and are in the coaches poll for the first time this season.

In the AP poll, SDSU is receiving 87 points, up from 50 last week when it entered the poll for the first time this year. San Diego State is four points ahead of No. 25 Navy (83) and 163 points behind No. 23 SMU (250).

This is the 10th time in the Rocky Long era (since 2011) that the Aztecs have been nationally ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll after being ranked just 14 times the previous 42 years of Division I football.

SDSU is 7-1 for just the second time in the last 42 seasons (also 2016). San Diego State is still the only team in the nation with a 5-0 road record this year.

San Diego State is also 24th in the Amway Coaches Poll with 105 points, up from 94 a week ago. Like the AP poll, the Aztecs are just ahead of 25th-ranked Navy (92) and behind No. 23 SMU (23).

SDSU returns to action this Saturday at home against Nevada with the kick set for 7:30 p.m. PT. For ticket information, visit GoAztecs.com, call (619) 283-7378 or visit SDCCU Stadium's Window E between 9 a.m. PT and 5 p.m. PT.
