SAN DIEGO - San Diego State track and field head coach Shelia Burrell has announced the date and schedule for the 42nd annual Aztec Track and Field Invitational. The three-day meet, which will take place from March 26-28, 2020 will once again feature some of the top collegiate teams and athletes in the country and from around the globe.

The meet will include open, invitational, Paralympic and high school competition. The entire meet will take place at the Aztrack on the SDSU Sports Deck except for the men and women's invitational hammer throw and open javelin throw, which will take place on the campus of UC San Diego in nearby La Jolla, Calif. on the morning of Friday, March 27.

"Since 2020 is an Olympic year, once again the Aztec Invitational will be packed with high level performances as athletes from every corner of the world come to San Diego as they work to punch their ticket to Tokyo." Burrell said. "Last year, the Qatari and Chinese national teams came to our meet. We expect to see more national teams this coming year. Many of meet records were set by athletes on their way to the Olympics. This promised to be an exciting and competitive meet."

The combined events kick off the meet on Thursday, March 26 with the men's decathlon and women's heptathlon. On Friday, March 27 will be the invitational hammer and open javelin at UCSD, while the rest of open meet competition and the final day of the multi-events will take place at SDSU during the day. Friday evening is the distance carnival, which will also include a National Federation of the State High School Associations (NFHS) sanctioned high school mile. The invitational meet and high school sections as well as Paralympic events will wrap up the meet on Saturday, March 28.

Open and invitational meet entries are through DirectAthletics, with High School entries (by invitation only) are through Athletic.net. See meet package for further information.
