The Aztecs dropped two matches last week, falling to Oregon State 1-0 in overtime and then lost to Washington, the No. 1 team in the country 3-0.

Aztec Storylines
•    The Aztecs will hit the road after playing their last five matches on their home pitch. On Thursday, they will play at No. 5 Stanford, who they played extremely well against in a 1-0 loss a few weeks ago and then they will play at Cal on Sunday. Both matches will be available on the Pac-12 Network (subscription required).
•    Freshman Hunter George has a team-high five goals, which is tied for seventh in the Pac-12. This is the most by an Aztec freshman since David Olsen scored seven in 2014.
•    Pelaez in second in the Pac-12 with 3.26 shots per game. He is also third in the conference with 1.29 shots on goal per game.
•    Pelaez is tied with Tevenn Roux for the team lead in assists with four.
•    SDSU is averaging 5.93 corner kicks per game, 39th in the nation. They had 16 corner kicks against Cal a few weeks ago.
•    When the Aztecs play at No. 5 Stanford Thursday it will be their fourth time facing a ranked team over their last five matches. Three of the teams have been ranked in the top ten.
•    Pablo Pelaez was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week on Oct. 1 after scoring a goal and recording an assist in SDSU's 2-0 win at Brown.
•    The Pac-12 has the second-best record in non-conference play in the nation, trailing only the ACC. Washington is currently ranked No.12 in the country and Stanford is No. 5. Five of the six Pac-12 teams are ranked in the top 70 of RPI.
•    Former Aztec goalkeeper Tally Hall (2003-06) was inducted into the Aztec Hall of Fame on October 11. A two-time All-American, Hall led the nation with an 88.9 save percentage and ranked second with a 0.49 goals allowed average in 2005. He also recorded 12 shutouts that season; all are single-season school records. After SDSU, he enjoyed a 10-year professional career, including eight seasons with the Houston Dynamo of MLS and was a two-time MLS All-Star.
•    Pablo Pelaez was named to the Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference Team. The redshirt senior led the Aztecs in points (15) and goals (six) last season and tied for the team lead with three assists.
•    The Aztecs return eight starters from a season ago.
•    SDSU has 11 seniors on their roster after only having four in 2018.
•    The Aztecs have the No. 10 2019 recruiting class in the country according to Top Drawer Soccer. SDSU has nine newcomers (eight freshmen and one transfer).

Opponent Notebook
No. 5 Stanford

Stanford is 10-1-2 on the year and 3-1-1 in conference play… Their only loss came in overtime to No. 1 Washington… Stanford is outscoring its opponents 27-8 and 16-3 in the second half… Ousseni Bouda, who scored the game-winning goal at SDSU a few weeks ago leads the team with 12 points… Goalkeeper Andrew Thomas is 9-1-2 and has a goals allowed average of 0.64… Head coach Jeremy Gunn (8th season) has led Stanford to three national championships in the last four years… SDSU is 12-18-8 all-time against Stanford and the Aztecs haven't beaten the Cardinal since Sept. 30, 2011. The Cardinal beat the Aztecs 1-0 earlier this year.

Cal
The Golden Bears are 6-4-2 and 2-2-1 in the Pac-12… They are 4-3-1 at home… Cal is second in the conference and are 20th in the nation with 15.08 shots per game… Goalkeeper Drake Callender is top 30 in the nation in goals against average (0.89) and save percentage (.792)… Jonathan Estrada leads the team in points (13) and is tied for the team lead in goals with Thomas Williamson (5)… Alonzo Del Mundo has a team-high six assists… Cal is coached by Kevin Grimes (20th season), who has a career record of 202-135-44… SDSU is 22-24-4 against Cal all-time and the Golden Bears have won the last five meetings.
