COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Diego State senior keeper Brooke Lisowski was named the Mountain West Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 27.

Lisowski posted a 2-0 record with wins against Fresno State and San Jose State last weekend.  This is her second Mountain West weekly honor and the fourth for an Aztec women's soccer player in the last four weeks.

In two games, the Los Gatos, Calif., native, allowed just one goal in a total of 182 minutes posting a 0.50 goals against average and had a .857 save percentage .

Against Fresno State on Friday night, Lisowski surrendered one goal in a 2-1 overtime win. She faced an 11-shot barrage from the Bulldogs, and in overtime recorded the first assist of her college career.  On a goal kick, she booted the ball over two-thirds of the way down the field and right onto the foot of Rachelle Elve who scored the game winner.

On Sunday versus San Jose State, she and the defense limited the Wolf Pack to a total of eight shots, and turned away each of the five shots which reached her line.  It was her fifth clean sheet of the season.

Lisowski is one of two players to earn multiple Defensive Player of the Week honors in the Mountain West this year.

With the pair of wins, the Aztecs have secured one of the top-two seed in the upcoming Mountain West Championship, which means SDSU will have a first-round bye and needs to win two games in the championship to earn the conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.  In addition, San Diego State is tied with Boise State at the top of the Mountain West table and have an opportunity to clinch the MW regular-season title with a win and a Broncos loss next Friday in each team's regular-season finale.

San Diego State plays its final regular-season match on Friday at New Mexico, the team that knocked the Aztecs out of the Mountain West Championship last year.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. (MT) with links to streaming video and live state on the team's schedule page at www.goaztecs.com.
