SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State football team is ranked 25th in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, which was released Sunday. It is the ninth time the Aztecs (7-1, 4-1 MW) have been ranked since the 2016 season.
SDSU is receiving 50 points in the poll, up from 17 last week when it was receiving the 28th-most votes. San Diego State is just ahead of Texas (49) in 25th, and behind No. 22 Kansas State (218), No. 23 Wake Forest (200) and No. 24 Memphis (188).
San Diego State has now been ranked nine times in the Rocky Long era (since 2011) after being ranked just 14 times the previous 42 years of Division I football. The Aztecs are ranked for the first time since Oct. 8, 2017.
SDSU, which is idle this week, is off to a 7-1 start for just the second time in the last 42 seasons (also 2016). San Diego State is the only team in the nation with a 5-0 road record this year.
The Aztecs are also receiving 94 votes in the Amway Coaches Poll, just eight points behind No. 25 Kansas State (102).
SDSU returns to action Saturday, Nov. 9 at home against Nevada. The start time and broadcast information for the game is expected to be announced on Monday morning. For ticket information, visit GoAztecs.com, call (619) 283-7378 or visit SDCCU Stadium's Window E between 9 a.m. PT and 5 p.m. PT.
