WEST DIVISION OPENER
* The two teams that rank first and second among all 130 FBS teams in turnover margin meet in the Mountain West West Division opener for both teams Saturday afternoon when San Diego State (5-1, 2-1 MW) travels to San José State (3-3; 1-2 MW).
* San Diego State, owners of a 29-1 record the last 30 times it has owned a turnover margin advantage, is tied for second nationally in turnover margin at +1.67 (13 gained, 3 lost). San José State, meanwhile, leads the nation with a +2.00 turnover margin (18 gained, 6 lost).
* San Diego State has not committed a turnover since the second quarter of the Sept. 21 game against Utah State. That means the Aztecs have played 10 straight quarters of turnover-free ball, a streak that covers 195 offensive snaps from scrimmage.
* The Aztecs and Spartans are meeting for the 43rd time with San Diego State owning a 24-19-2 series advantage. SDSU has won the last six meetings (all of those occurred after San José State joined the Mountain West).

FROM THE FILM ROOM (through games of Oct. 13)
* Senior QB Ryan Agnew put together another excellent performance vs Wyoming on Saturday. Agnew has gone 82 pass attempts without throwing an interception, posting seven touchdowns during that stretch. Against the Cowboys when facing pressure, Agnew completed 7-of-8 attempts for 108 yards (13.5 ypa) and an NCAA efficency rating of 242.15. For the season, Pro Football Focus grades Agnew out with an 88.0 rating, good for tops in the Mountain West and ninth in all of FBS. His 76.1 adjusted completion percentage ranks first in the conference and his passer rating against pressure is second in the league. Agnew has thrown six passing TDs vs pressures this year, tied for 2nd most in the nation, trailing only LSU's Joe Burrow (7).
* The San Diego State offensive line had another outstanding game on Saturday. The o-line combined to allow no sacks and no quarterback hits on 34 pass plays. The Aztec line was the only one in the MW last week to record 30-plus pass plays with no sacks and no hurries. Junior LT Kyle Spalding was perfect on the day in the passing game with no pressures allowed for the first time this season. Redshirt freshman RG William Dunkle also allowed no pressure of any kind. Dunkle has yet to allow a sack in pass protection this year on 181 pass blocks. For the season, the San Diego State offensive line owns the top pass block efficiency figure in the MW (per PFF).
* Sophomore CB Darren Hall forced an incompletion on both of his targets in coverage last week. Hall was targeted twice and did not allow a reception while recording two pass deflections. Over the last two weeks, Hall has allowed just one reception on nine targets for minus-5 yards. Per PFF, Hall earned the top overall grade (81.3) among MW corners last week. On the season (per PFF), the Aztecs have the top 3 graded corners in the MW (Luq Barcoo: 89.0, Kyree Woods: 83.0 and Darren Hall: 82.8). In 2019, Hall has allowed less than half of all targets to be caught in his coverage (14-of-30; 46.7 percent) and his six pass deflections are second most among CBs in the conference.
* Senior LB Kyahva Tezino continues to show why he is one of the best linebackers in the nation. Tezino recorded six tackles, three stops and did not miss a tackle in the game. Tezino also notched a couple pressures (two hurries) on five pass rushes. Tezino has recorded at least one quarterback pressure in every game played this season and is currently riding a pressure streak of 19 games, that includes the entire 2018 campaign. The last game Tezino didn't record at least one pressure was the final week of the 2017 season. This season in pass coverage, Tezino has allowed no touchdowns, and has one interception and two pass deflections.

ADDITIONAL NOTES ON THE WYOMING WIN
* The Aztecs overcame their largest deficit to win (11 points) since overcoming a 14-point deficit to win at San Jose State (34-30) on Nov. 9, 2013.
* SDSU overcame a double-digit deficit to win for the 40th time in its DI history (since '69).
* It was the 22nd second-half comeback for the Aztecs under Rocky Long, the most in their DI history.
* Quarterback Ryan Agnew recorded his fourth second-half comeback victory, tied for the fifth most in SDSU's DI era.
* The Aztecs have won the sixth game of the season in each of the last 10 seasons (2010-19), which is the third-longest streak nationally.
* San Diego State is 5-1 the last six regular-season games in which its opponent has had a bye entering the game.
