SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State lacrosse program will hold two clinics this fall when it plays host to the September Skills Clinic on Saturday, Sept. 28, followed by the Aztec Warrior Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Now in its second year, the September Skills Clinic is open to any and all girls in grades 7-12, offering the opportunity to learn lacrosse fundamentals and add new skills to each participant's repertoire. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Aztec Lacrosse Field and the cost is $60.

Next month, SDSU will also conduct the eighth annual Aztec Warrior Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Aztec Lacrosse Field as well.

The event is open to any and all high school aged players, with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. A stick work clinic will follow for 30 minutes prior to the start a five-on-five tournament, which will ultimately crown the Weekend Warrior champion.

The five-on-five games will last seven minutes with a running clock and will be played on one side of the field.

In addition, a second clinic will be conducted from noon-12:20 p.m. that day.

Participants can register as teams of five to 10 field players and one goalie, or as an individual placed on a house team to be assigned at check-in.

Enrollment for the event closes on Sunday, Oct. 14, and the cost per player is $70, which includes a free tournament T-shirt.

Players must bring their own goggles, sticks, mouth guards and goalie equipment. Registered teams must look uniform and wear similarly colored jerseys or shirts.
