San Diego, Calif. – In its lone prep for the 2019 season, the San Diego State women's soccer team hosts the Washington State Cougars in an exhibition match at 7:00 p.m., on Friday night on the SDSU Sports Deck.

The Aztecs are looking to snap a three-game slide in preseason exhibition matches.  The last exhibition SDSU won was 1-0 decision against Long Beach State prior to the start of the 2015 regular-season.

In the series between the two programs, SDSU holds a 3-1 advantage, however the schools have not met since 1996.  San Diego State won both matchups in San Diego (3-1 in 1991 & 1-0 in 1993) and the first meeting in Pullman, Wash., 2-0 in 1992.  The last time the Aztecs and Washington State faced off, it was in Pullman in 1996 and the Cougars earned a 2-1 decision.

San Diego State returns 13 letter winners and eight starters, including 2018 Mountain West Newcomer of the Year Laura Fuentes, from last year's squad and bring back 90.4 percent (19-of-21 goals) of its scoring from a year ago.

The regular season kicks off next week with the first two of four straight home matches.  The season opener is against Texas Tech (Thursday, Aug. 22 at 7:00 p.m.) followed by a match against LIU (Sunday, Aug. 12:00 p.m.).  Admission is free for all San Diego State women's soccer matches.
