COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Thirty-nine San Diego State student-athletes were honored for their high achievement in the classroom as Mountain West Scholar-Athletes for the 2018-19 school year, the conference office announced today.
 
The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at SDSU, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better and have participated in varsity competition in a Mountain West-sponsored sport.
 
Swimming and diving led the way with nine honorees. Women's soccer, volleyball and football were second with five honorees. In total, 11 sports were represented.
 
Yesterday, San Diego State had 68 student-athletes earn Academic All-Mountain West status for the spring semester.
