PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference announced its all-academic team for 2018-19 on Thursday, which featured 30 Aztec rowing honorees.
Nominations for the All-Academic Team are submitted by each of the AAC's member institutions. To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in an American Athletic Conference-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.
In addition to their AAC all-academic honors, a program-record six Aztecs were named national scholar athletes by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA): senior Michelle Jacob, juniors Brooke Boron and Laura Keane and sophomores Kaytlin Barker, Hannah Broadland and Julia Camillucci.
The Aztecs completed their fifth season in the AAC, finishing fifth in the conference. Sophomore Hannah Broadland earned all-AAC first team honors, while freshman Helen Bauer made the second team.
