SAN DIEGO - San Diego State had 11 student-athletes earn 2019 Golden Coast Conference (GCC) All-Academic honors, the GCC announced on Monday. The 11 honorees surpass the program's record for the most in the GCC era and the most in school history regardless of league affiliation. The previous high of eight was first accomplished in 2015 and matched last season.

To land on the all-academic list, student-athletes must be a full-time student, have completed two terms, played in more than 50 percent of their team's games and hold a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Recognized by the Golden Coast Conference were seniors Maura Cantoni and Hannah Carrillo; juniors Isabelle Hastings and Shelby Kraft; sophomores Emily Bennett and Haley Hagerty; and freshman Delaney Binette, Lucia Carballo, Sydney Hurst, Jessica Leckich and Spencer Samuel. Carillo picks up her third consecutive GCC academic award, while Bennett, Cantoni, Carbalo and Kraft picked up their second in a row.

The Aztecs performed in the pool and the classroom.  Bennett was a first-team All-GCC performer, Cantoni and Carillo were second-team honorees and Hurst was a member of the GCC All-Freshman team.
The Aztecs finished the 2019 campaign with a 16-16 record, 5-2 in GCC action and a No. 2 seed in the conference's championship tournament.
