SAN DIEGO -- The 44th annual KGB SkyShow will follow San Diego State's 2019 opener against Weber State on Saturday, Aug. 31 at SDCCU Stadium. Kickoff for the Aztecs and Wildcats is set for 6 p.m. PT.
The KGB SkyShow, the largest fireworks show in the area, annually attracts one of the largest crowds of the season, including last year when 45,755 fans showed up to watch SDSU beat Sacramento State, 28-14.
Tickets to the KGB SkyShow will be available for Aztec fans and KGB listeners on May 20 at 9 a.m. PT via an internet presale (view level only) with special code "August31." Current San Diego State football season-ticket holders, meanwhile, can order additional single-game tickets at all levels on July 15 at 9 a.m. PT for the game through the Aztec Ticket Office in person at SDCCU Stadium, Window E. Single-game tickets at all levels for the general public to the Aug. 31 clash and all remaining home games also go on sale on July 22 at 9 a.m. PT at all points of purchase.
Additional promotions will be announced in the coming days.
The Aztecs finished 2018 with a 7-6 record, including wins over No. 23/25 Arizona State and rv/No. 24 Boise State. SDSU is one of 14 teams to make a bowl game in nine consecutive seasons. San Diego State returns its leading passer (Ryan Agnew), rusher (Juwan Washington) and tackler (Kyahva Tezino) from a year ago.
SDSU's Mountain West home schedule features the two teams that finished atop the West Division standings last year (Fresno State and Nevada), and two cross-division opponents with the best league record (Utah State) and the third-best mark on the Mountain Division (Wyoming). Overall, San Diego State's four Mountain West home games come against teams that went a combined 23-9 in league competition, while its four conference road contests are against teams that went 10-22 in league play.
