WOODLAND, Calif. – The San Diego State lacrosse team picked up two more Mountain Pacific Sports Federation awards on Monday, as senior Harlowe Steele (Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada) collected her third offensive player of the week honor this season, while Caitlin Jones (Carlsbad, Calif.) was named rookie of the week for the third time as well.

In the Aztecs' 18-9 loss at No. 18 Stanford on April 4, Steele paced the Scarlet and Black with five points on four goals and one assist to tie for game-high honors. In addition, the SDSU midfielder went 2-for-3 on free position attempts and tied for the team lead with three draw controls while contributing one ground ball and one caused turnover.

With her effort, Steele extended her streak of scoring at least two goals to 10 straight games, with multiple tallies in 12 of 13 outings this season. She has also registered at least three goals in 15 different games during her career, including seven this year.

For the season, Steele is tied for the team lead with 34 goals and tops the squad with 39 draw controls while ranking third with 26 ground balls. She also moved into a tie for second place on SDSU's all-time list with 131 draw controls for her career and has picked up at least one ground ball in every contest this year while notching three or more draw controls in nine of 13 games.

Jones, meanwhile, finished with three points on two goals and one assist at Stanford last Thursday to go with three draw controls to match her teammate Steele. Her second goal ignited a 4-0 Aztec run over the final 11 minutes of the game.

With her performance, Jones has recorded multiple goals in six games this year. The SDSU midfielder has also dished out at least one assist in back-to-back outings for the first time this season. Additionally, she totaled two goals and at least two draw controls in the same game for the second time during the 2019 campaign.

For the season, Jones leads the Aztec freshman class with 19 goals, which ranks third on the team. She is also third on the squad with nine free position goals.

With their honors, SDSU has merited 10 weekly conference awards this year already. Steele now has seven for her career, including six as an offensive player.

San Diego State returns to the field on Saturday, April 13, when it battles UC Davis in an MPSF road clash, starting at 1 p.m. PT in Davis, Calif
