SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women's tennis team will wrap up its regular season this Thursday, April 18, when they play host to UC San Diego. Aztec seniors Jenny Moinard and Magda Aubets will be honored at 1:45 p.m. and doubles action is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the Aztec Tennis Center.

UCSD, the No. 22 team in the ITA Division II national rankings, enters Thursday's contest with a 12-5 overall record. The Tritons have not lost a match since March 8, winning eight straight dual matches since the team's 4-3 loss to Hawaii Pacific. The D-II program also visited the Mesa earlier this season, dropping a 7-0 decision to the Aztecs in late January.

The Aztecs look to bounce back after a challenging weekend, when the team dropped back-to-back matches to UNLV (4-3) and CSUN (4-1). San Diego State, currently 12-9, finished 3-1 in Mountain West action following Saturday's 4-3 loss to UNLV. Though the Scarlet and Black were unable to capture a team win, a handful of Aztecs logged personal accolades that afternoon. Freshman Shakhnoza Khatamova pulled off a solid 6-2, 6-4 win over 81st-ranked Aiwen Zhu to record her first-ever win over a ranked opponent, while sophomore Abbie Mulbarger improved to a team-high six straight wins in singles action to improve her singles record to 12-4.

Sophomore Nnena Nadozie put together a fourth straight singles win to tally a team-high 13 singles victories in dual match play, and despite two straight doubles losses, Nadozie and freshman Alicia Melosch have remained amongst the D-I ranked duos at No. 83, moving down 13 spots from last week's ranking as No. 70.

Results from Thursday's senior day match will be available at GoAztecs.com following the conclusion of play. Admission is free at all home women's tennis matches at the Aztec Tennis Center.
