SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State looks to win its second straight Mountain West series this weekend when it plays host to San José State at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs (17-21, 5-7 MW) meet the Spartans (26-12, 6-3 MW) at 6 p.m. PT Friday, 6 p.m. PT Saturday and noon PT Sunday.

The first 250 fans in attendance on Friday will receive a free pair of SDSU sandals and the third set of softball trading cards will be given out to the first 200 fans on Sunday.

San Diego State is coming off a tough 5-4 loss at USD on Wednesday night in 10 innings, but did capture the series win at Nevada last weekend, including the final two games by a combined score of 13-4.

After three consecutive games with at least 10 hits, the Aztecs have raised their season average to .266. Taylor Adams continues to pace the SDSU offense with a .363 average to go along with three home runs, 19 RBIs, 15 runs, six doubles and a .496 slugging percentage.

Shelby Thompson, meanwhile, is batting .316 with 15 RBIs, 10 runs, five doubles and a team-high .404 on-base percentage. Kiera Wright (.274) leads the team with 25 runs and 17 stolen bases in 17 chances.

Despite missing eight games before league play with an injury, Marissa Moreno continues to lead the San Diego State pitching staff in most categories, including ERA (3.76), wins (7, tied), appearances (26), complete games (4), shutouts (2), saves (2), innings pitched (98.2), strikeouts (87) and opponents' average (.246). Alicia Garcia (7-6, 4.32 ERA, 69.2 IP) and MJ James (3-6, 4.84 ERA, 85.1 IP) have also logged important innings in the circle for the Aztecs.

All three games this weekend will be streamed on the Mountain West Network (shortened link - http://bit.ly/2SZxJJg), while each game will have live stats on GoAztecs.com.
