Storylines
-  The No. 16 Aztecs host the No. 8 University of the Pacific Tigers for a huge GCC clash this Friday at 4:00 p.m. at the Aztec Aquaplex. SDSU is 5-1 in GCC play and currently sits in second place behind the Tigers, who are 4-0.

- The Aztecs went 2-0 last week, picking up a pair of road wins. On Wednesday, they tied a season-high with 17 goals in a 17-6 win at Cal State Monterey Bay. Emily Bennett, Hannah Carrillo and Haley Hagerty each scored four goals. Bennett and Carrillo also had two assists. Lucia Carballo recorded three assists and Maddy Parenteau added two. On Friday, they knocked off T-No. 15 Fresno State 9-7 to improve to 5-1 in the GCC. SDSU rallied from a 3-0 deficit and Emily Bennett, Karli Canale and Mary Myers led the Aztecs with two goals apiece

- The Aztecs have won seven of their last eight games, the first time they have done that since 2014 when they won nine of ten. During that span, they are holding opponents to 5.5 goals per game, while scoring 9.1. Due to their recent hot streak, the Aztecs have jumped up to No. 16 in the latest CWPA rankings, their highest rank of the year.

- SDSU improved to 15-12 and 5-1 in the GCC. With two regular season games remaining and the GCC Championships, the Aztecs have already equaled their win total from last year when they went 15-16 and 5-2 in the GCC.

- Aztec goalkeeper Maura Cantoni was named the GCC Player of the Week last week following her standout performance in goal. Cantoni helped the No. 20 Aztecs go 4-1 with a goals allowed average of 4.39. Over 3.5 games, she collected 46 saves in 124 minutes and allowed just 17 goals. Against Santa Clara in a key GCC match-up, she held the Broncos to just one goal with 12 saves and a save percentage of 92.3 percent. In the win over No. 19 San Jose State, she tied a season-high with 17 saves and helped lift the Aztecs to a 10-9 overtime win. She held them scoreless in both overtime periods and one sudden death period and only allowed four goals in the game's final 28 minutes. Against No. 8 Arizona State, she had nine saves and allowed just six goals to the Sun Devils, who average just under 10 a game. On Wednesday she allowed just one goal in the win over CSUMB in a half of play.

- This was the second consecutive week an Aztec has taken home GCC Player of the Week honors (Emily Bennett).

- SDSU is 5-1 in GCC play. They have the most wins and the second-best winning percentage (Pacific is 4-0).

- The Aztecs are 14-5 when they score seven or more goals.

- The Aztecs have had five games decided by one goal, going 2-3 in those contests.

- SDSU is 6-10 against ranked opponents but have four of their last five meetings against ranked teams.

- After this week, the Aztecs will have just one regular season game remaining, the Harper Cup vs. UC San Diego on April 20. The GCC Championships run April 26-28 in Fresno, Calif. 

- SDSU is 32-2 all-time against Pacific, but the Tigers have won the last two meetings, including an 11-7 win in the 2017 GCC Championship.
