WOODLAND, Calif. – San Diego State lacrosse's Elizabeth Adams was selected Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for her exceptional effort in the Aztecs' road game at reigning national champion and 10th-ranked James Madison on March 30.
With her award, the SDSU senior garnered the first conference weekly accolade of her career and the Aztecs' eighth as a team this season.
A native of Annapolis, Md., Adams set a personal best with three caused turnovers against the Dukes and tied for team-high honors among SDSU field players with two ground balls.
Despite the setback, Adams was part of an Aztec defense that limited JMU to six goals in the season half.
For the season, Adams ranks second on the team with 13 caused turnovers and is fourth with 17 ground balls. Her caused turnover total marks a career single-season high, while her ground ball figure is one shy of matching her personal best established during the 2018 campaign.
Additionally, the SDSU defender has at least one caused turnover in four consecutive games while extending her streak with multiple ground balls to three straight contests.
Adams and the Aztecs will continue their road swing on Thursday, April 4, when they venture the Bay Area to face No. 18 Stanford, starting at 4 p.m. PT. Links to live stats and streaming video will be available on GoAztecs.com.
