TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 21 Aztec water polo team (12-11) won their fourth game in a row after knocking off Siena 10-2 in their first game of the ASU Invitational.
The SDSU defense has carried them the last two games. Goalkeepers Maura Cantoni and Mia Harris have combined for five shutout quarters and allowed just three goals over the last two games.
Seven Aztecs scored with Karli Canale, Haley Hagerty and Mary Myers each scoring a team-high two goals.
The Aztecs scored the first seven goals of the game. Mary Myers got SDSU on the board with a goal with 3:17 left in the first. Shortly later Shelby Kraft scored on a Maddy Parenteau assist.
SDSU would score five times in the second quarter and held a comfortable 7-0 lead at the halftime break.
The Aztecs outscored Siena 3-2 in the second half.

Siena attempted 29 shots, but connected on just two goals (.069).
THE NOTE
The Aztecs five second quarter goals tied a season-high for most goals in a quarter.
