Aztecs Compete in Bob Larsen Distance Carnival

LOS ANGELES – The Aztec track and field team kicked off their weekend at UCLA with the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival Friday evening.

Marissa D'Atri competed in the 3,000m steeplechase for the first time of her collegiate career and finished in ninth with a time of 11:07.62, good for the fifth best time in school history and the best ever for a freshman.. Isabell Davis PR'd with a mark of 11:53.57, good for 13th place.

Renee Laurenzana was the top Aztec finisher of the night after finishing in third with a personal best time of 4:46.01 in the 1,500. Carlene Masar, competing unattached, was right behind her with a time of 4:46.69. Caitlyn Couch made her season debut and came in 14th (5:14.36).

Paige Comiso was the lone Aztec competitor in the 5,000m run and came in 11th (18:48.25).

Cari Acosta also competed Friday evening and earned an 11th place finish in the hammer throw (137-11).

The rest of the Aztecs will be competing tomorrow in the Jim Bush Legends Invitational, also at UCLA.
