WOODLAND, Calif. – San Diego State lacrosse midfielder Harlowe Steele was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for a pair of standout performances in road games at Cincinnati and Ohio State.

With her award, the SDSU senior received the sixth conference weekly honor of her career and fifth as an offensive player, which gives the Aztecs seven as a team this season.

A native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, Steele led the Aztecs with six goals on just nine shots, finishing with a .889 shot-on-goal percentage (8-9) while converting 5-of-8 free position attempts. She also collected eight ground balls and posted five draw controls on the weekend.

Against Cincinnati last Friday, Steele tied for game-high honors with four goals on six free position shots, which marked her fourth straight game with at least three tallies and the 14th time in her career. She also tied for the team lead with four draw controls and picked up three ground balls, as SDSU fell short to the Bearcats.

Steele then added two goals in the Aztecs' setback at Ohio State on Sunday while posting a career-high five ground balls to go with one draw control. Her second goal vs. the Buckeyes capped a 5-1 run that trimmed the deficit to 10-9 in the second half.  With her effort, Steele has recorded at least one goal in 20 of her last 21 starts dating back to last year. She also has multiple ground balls in six outings this season.

For the season, Steele leads SDSU with 36 points (28 goals, 8 assists), including a team-high 15 free position goals. She also tops the squad with 33 draw controls and ranks fourth on the program's career list with 125 in that category, just two behind teammate Jill Haight.

Steele and the Aztecs return to action on Saturday when they travel to Harrisonburg, Va., to face defending national champion and 10th-ranked James Madison, starting at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT.
