SAN DIEGO – San Diego State's outdoor season will kick into full swing when they host the 41st annual Aztec Invitational this weekend. The meet runs Thursday to Saturday and will feature over 90 colleges and clubs, a dozen local high schools and approximately 3,000 athletes, a new meet record.

The Division I universities that will be attending include Air Force, Arizona, BYU, Grand Canyon, Kansas State, Loyola Marymount, Nevada, Oregon, San Diego, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, Utah and Wisconsin. The Qatar, Chinese and Brazilian national team will also have athletes competing as well as Paralympic Olympic record holder David Brown and Guide Runner Jerome Avery, 100m London Games World Champion Tori Bowie, Olympic Long Jump Champion Jeff Henderson and Chula Vista Olympic Training Center athletes.

While SDSU has had athletes compete in outdoor meets the past two weekends, this is the first outdoor meet of the season where the Aztecs will have a full complement of athletes competing.

The Aztecs will honor their six seniors this weekend: Bonnie Draxler, Je'Neal Ainsworth, Lisa-Anne Barrow, Marissa Berry, Lakin Hatcher and Angela Wilson.

Admission to the meet is $5 per day (cash only). Parking is free on Saturday.
