SAN DIEGO – The No. 25 Aztec water polo team fell to No. 14 Princeton Tuesday afternoon at the Aztec Aquaplex. SDSU fell behind 5-0, rallied to score four straight goals, but was then outscored 3-2 down the stretch.

Emily Bennett led the Aztecs with three goals and an assist; it was her fourth hat trick of the year. Karli Canale continued her outstanding season with a goal and an assist. Senior goalkeeper Maura Cantoni collected 12 saves, her fifth game with double-digit saves.

The Tigers dominated the first quarter, outscoring the Aztecs 5-0. SDSU responded with four unanswered goals with two coming from Bennett to bring the score to 5-4 early in the third quarter.

Princeton would score three of the next four goals to take an 8-5 lead with 7:09 left. The Aztecs would hold the Tigers scoreless for the remainder of the game, but could only manage one more goal, Bennett's third of the day.
