Need to Know:
- San Diego State, winner of a Mountain West men's basketball championship record 11 titles, advance to the semifinals for the 12th consecutive season and will face No. 14/17 Nevada for the second time in seven days.
- The Aztecs-Wolf Pack game will be broadcast nationally by CBS Sports Network and the contest can be heard on 101.5 KGB, XTRA Sports 1360 and FOX Sports IE 1350.
- The Aztecs and Wolf Pack split the season series this season, with each team defending its home court (SDSU, 65-57, in San Diego on Feb. 20 and Nevada, 81-53, last Saturday in Reno).
- San Diego State has won 11of the last 14 meetings with the Wolf Pack and are 3-0 in neutral site meetings. The Aztecs is 2-0 against Nevada in the Mountain West tourney - winning twice in the semifinals (2016 and 2018).
- The Aztecs are 10-4 all-time in the semifinal round of the Mountain West tourney.
- San Diego State has won the event a record five times (2002, 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2018).
- Amazingly, San Diego State has played for the tournament title in four of the last five years and in eight of the last 10 seasons (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018).
- This is the fifth time SDSU has earned the four seed in the event. The Aztecs own an 8-3 record when in the four position, including the 2010 season when they won their third MW tournament championship.
- San Diego State has won the event as the one seed, two seed, four seed and five seed (twice).
- Since the start of the 2008-09 season, no team has won more games in a building the NCAA does not consider its home venue than the Aztecs 27 victories in Thomas & Mack Center. Villanova is second with 26 wins at Madison Square Garden (see chart, bottom page one).
- San Diego State is 3-1 in its last four games against the Wolf Pack and has handed Nevada three of its last six losses. Since Feb. 12, 2017, SDSU is 4-2 against Nevada while the rest of the country is a combined 9-65.
- San Diego State has defeated 33 AP nationally-ranked teams at the time of the game in school history.
- The Aztecs are 11-11 in their last 22 games against top 25 competition. SDSU is 10-6 in its last 16 games against AP Top 25 teams not ranked in the top 10.
- Since the start of the 2017-18 campaign, San Diego State's 4-4 record against AP Top 25 teams at the time of the game is tied for the 12th-best record in the nation.
- Since the start of the 2017-18 season, San Diego State's 4-4 record as an unranked team vs. nationally-ranked opponents at game time is tied for the second best record nationally (min. 8 games) (top 5 list is located below on page one).
