Aztecs Host New Mexico for Field Trip Day

Need to Know
• The Aztecs take on New Mexico at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday for Field Trip Day.
• The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network with Chris Ello (12th season) on the call.
• New Mexico is 18-2 and 8-1 in Mountain West play, tied for first in the league with Boise State.
• The Aztecs lost to the Lobos in Albuquerque 87-81 on January 23. SDSU nearly rallied back from a 19-point deficit, but the Lobos ended the game on an 8-0 run.
• SDSU is coming off a 69-68 win over San José State Saturday, which snapped a four game losing streak.
• The Aztecs had a season-high 20 assists in their win over the Spartans Saturday.
• Mallory Adams finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds, which tied a career-high. It was her third straight double-double and seventh of the year. Adams now has 10 games with 10 or more rebounds and is averaging a double-double in MW play.
• Adams is the first Aztec to have three consecutive double-doubles since Paris Johnson had four straight in the 2008-09 season.
• Adams is averaging 8.7 rebounds per game, the most for an Aztec freshman since Ashlee Dunlap in the 2002-03 season. She is bringing in 10.2 boards per game in conference play, the second most in the league.
• Sophomore Najé Murray set a new career-high with nine assists against San José State last Saturday. Her previous best was eight which came against the Spartans as well. Murray also tied a career-high with nine rebounds.
• Murray is one of six players in the nation to average 14 points, 2.4 steals and 2.4 three-pointers per game.
• Sophia Ramos leads all Mountain West freshmen in points, assists, free throw percentage, assist-to-turnover ratio and minutes played. In conference play, she is shooting 88.0 percent from the free throw line, the most accurate among all qualified players.
• Ramos is the only true freshman in the nation to average 14 points, 4.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game.
• Zayn Dornstauder is averaging 8.4 points per game in conference play while shooting 55.3 percent from the floor.

Noting the San José State Game
•  The Aztecs only had ten turnovers, their fewest since their season opener against Hawai'i.
•  SDSU had a season-high 20 assists, giving them a 2-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
•  The Aztecs scored 26 points in the first quarter, their highest output in the opening quarter this year.
•  SDSU tied a season-high with 47 rebounds.
•  This was the Aztecs first win of the year when having less made free throws than their opponent and just their second win when having a worse field goal percentage (2-9).
•  SDSU is now 6-1 when holding their opponent to less than 40 percent shooting from the field.
•  The Aztecs had zero blocks in the game, the first time that has happened this season.
•  SDSU had just four bench points, tied for their lowest bench output of the year (Air Force 1-12-19).

Scouting the Lobos
•  New Mexico is 18-2 overall and 8-1 in the Mountain West.
•  Their lone MW loss was to UNLV, a 66-57 defeat on the road on January 9th
•  Their only other loss was against Auburn, a 79-76 defeat at home on November 11.
•  They are 6-1 on the road so far this season.
•  New Mexico has won six games in a row.
•  The Lobos lead the conference and are top ten in the nation in blocks (6.6) and rebounds per game (44.5).
•  They are holding opponents to 36.4 percent shooting from the field, second in the conference.
•  Jaisa Nunn (15.7) and Aisia Robertson (14.4) lead the Lobos in scoring. Nunn shoots a MW-best 56.4 percent from the field.
•  Robertson leads the MW and is fifth in the nation with 7.2 assists per game.
•  Nike McClure is 11th in the country with 2.7 blocks per game.
•  Jaisa Nunn averages 8.5 rebounds per game, second most in the conference.
•  Head Coach Mike Bradbury (3rd year) is 58-28 in 2.5 years at UNM. Prior to coming to New Mexico, he was the head coach at Morehead State (2007-10) and Wright State (2010-16).

All-Time Series vs. Lobos
•  The Lobos lead the all-time series 34-28
•  New Mexico beat the Aztecs 87-81 two weeks ago in Albuquerque.
•  They played only once last year, and the Aztecs earned a 97-89 win at home. In the game, McKynzie Fort scored 32 points and Najé Murray had a career-high 29 with seven three-pointers. Geena Gomez dished out 11 assists.
•  SDSU is 13-12 all-time at home vs. New Mexico
•  From 2001-2008, the Lobos beat SDSU 19 straight times.
•  They first met January 18, 1992, a 91-44 SDSU win. The Aztecs won the first 10 meetings.
