SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State swimming and diving team hosts Fresno State in the team's final home meet of the 2018-19 on Friday, January 11, at the Aztec Aquaplex. The meet is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m., with a Senior Day ceremony starting shortly prior with SDSU honoring its two seniors, Rachael Kelch and Anna Stahlak.

Kelch, a six-time all-Mountain West honoree, enters her final home meet with three top-five times in Aztec history, including the third-fastest times in the 200 fly and 200 back. Kelch has helped SDSU to a trio of top-three finishes at the Mountain West Championships over her first three years and a 40-2 record in dual meet competition.

Stahlak joined the program prior to the 2017-18 season after a stints at Mesa CC and CSU Bakersfield. Stahlak, an honors student studying mechanical engineering, set three personal-best times in last year's Mountain West Championships and has helped SDSU to a 21-1 dual-meet record over the last two seasons.

Fresno State makes its first appearance at the Aztec Aquaplex since SDSU hosted the Bulldogs, Colorado State, and New Mexico on Jan. 8, 2018. SDSU defeated Fresno State, 179-121, behind a first-place finish from McKenna Meyer in the 400 IM and a win in the 400 free relay featuring Alma Thormalm, Klara Thormalm, and Meyer.

On Tuesday, freshman Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez was named Mountain West Diver of the Week. Lechuga Gonzalez recorded the fifth-best 1-meter and 3-meter scores in school history on Dec. 19 against Cal Poly and Air Force.

Most recently, SDSU collected a pair of wins over Incarnate Word and Oregon State on Dec. 31 to improve to 10-0 in dual meets this season. Both Klara and Alma Thormalm led the Aztecs in the New Year's Eve matchup, posting two individual first-place finishes apiece in addition to being a part of both of SDSU's first-place relay teams.

Following Friday morning's meet, SDSU's swimmers will travel across town to San Diego for a dual meet on Friday, January 18, while the SDSU divers will participate in the UCLA Diving Invitational scheduled to run from Thursday, January 17 until Saturday, January 19.
