Men's Basketball Ready for Air ForceMen's Basketball Ready for Air Force

San Diego State concludes a two-game homestand and looks to climb above .500 in the conference standings with a Wednesday game against Air Force.
The Aztecs and Falcons are meeting for the second time in 19 days. Air Force defeated SDSU, 62-48, on Jan. 12 at Clune Arena. The teams are meeting for a second time despite the fact that the Aztecs have yet to play Colorado State, Nevada, San José State and Utah State.
Despite the loss earlier this season, SDSU has won nine of the last 11 games played between the teams - regardless of location.
The Aztecs have defeated Air Force the last 13 times in San Diego. That is the longest active home streak SDSU has against any opponent in Viejas Arena (second is Wyoming at 11).
San Diego State has won nine straight home games against Mountain West competition and is 12-1 in its last 13 and is 48-6 in such games since Jan. 26, 2013. During the nine-game win streak, SDSU has outscored their opponents by 178 points (+19.8 scoring margin).
On Monday, Jalen McDaniels became the first San Diego State men's basketball player to win the Mountain West Player of the Week honor in consecutive weeks. McDaniels averaged 24.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals in two games last week, while connecting on 63.0 percent of his field goal attempts.
McDaniels has recorded five consecutive double-doubles, matching the school record for most consecutive double-doubles in a single season in the Mountain West era. In the last 44 seasons (as far as records are available), Michael Cage owns the school record with eight straight double-doubles set during the 1983-84 season.
Since Dec. 29, 2018 (which includes McDaniels' last eight games), the sophomore has averaged 20.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and is shooting 56.5 percent from the field. He is one of only two players in the nation that is averaging 20-10-2 and is shooting at least 50 percent from the field during that span.
The Aztecs are 9-2 in home games this season with a +195-point scoring margin in the 11 contests at Viejas Arena.
At home, SDSU has significant advantages in field goal shooting (48.2-39.5), three-point field goal percentage (42.6-31.5) and have made more free throws (192) than its opponents have attempted (191).
