On what to expect in Saturday's game:
"Excitement. Rebel basketball. Up and down, run, shoot it, play fast. That's what Marvin Menzies has them doing. His team is playing really well right now – 5-1 in the conference, playing an exciting brand of basketball, and I'm happy for Marvin. You're happy for your friend every day but twice a year when you have to play them. Marvin was a wonderful assistant coach here. He's such a good person. It's good to see him stringing the wins together at UNLV this year. We will battle like competitors but when the game is over, we'll give each other a hearty handshake and a hug and wish each other well."

"Those games are always fun. I remember playing them my freshman year and playing in their arena for the first time and seeing the fireworks come up during their player intros. UNLV is always an exciting game. I love playing them. I love the matchup. I know they take it seriously and we do, too, so it's going to be fun. Just the competitive nature, knowing that we're going to get their best and we're going to have to give them our best."
On what makes the games against UNLV competitive:
"I think what makes it competitive is just the games in the past, before I even was at State with the players who came before me. It's just rolled on over the years."
