SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Aztec cross country team wrapped up their season at the NCAA West Regionals Friday morning. They finished in 28th out of 36 schools, topping two Mountain West programs.
For the second time in the last three races, Marissa D'Atri was the top Aztecs finisher. She finished in 21:58.3, improving her time by nearly a minute from when she competed on this same course six weeks ago.
Paige Comiso (22:25.1), Renee Laurenzana (22:26.3) and Alize Hartke (22:30.3) were right behind D'Atri. Other Aztecs that competed included Renee Phillips (23:19.3), Natalie Regalado (24:19.9) and Caitlyn Couch (23:34.2).
STAT OF THE MEET
Five of the six Aztecs were raced today and at the Capital Cross Challenge (on the same course) six weeks ago improved their time. Marissa D'Atri made the biggest leap, improving her time by 57 seconds.
