SAN DIEGO  –  San Diego State volleyball head coach Deitre Collins-Parker and recruiting coordinator Melanie Greene have announced the signing of Nya Blair, an outside hitter from Martin High School in Arlington, Texas.

"We are very excited to add Nya to our 2019 roster," said Collins-Parker.  She is a natural blocker and a dynamic attacker.  She has experience playing on the left and right side which will be an invaluable contribution to the depth of our roster.  I expect Nya to come in and make an immediate impact on our program.  Her work ethic and her determination to be great, will help her become a successful student-athlete in the gym and in the classroom..

During her senior season, Blair has recorded 3.4 kills per set with a .272 hitting percentage over 115 sets played according to MaxPreps. Blair is a member of a Martin HS team that owns a 33-9 record, including a 15-1 mark in district play and earned District 4-6A Most Valuable Player honors.

Over her junior and senior seasons, Blair has recorded 743 kills with a .284 hitting percentage. Blair has also played club volleyball for 360 Volleyball Club, where she participated in the 2017  High Performance  A1 in Florida.
