SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State men's tennis team closed out the Aztec Fall Invitational on Sunday with just two players competing, as juniors David Hough (Traralgon, Australia) and Rafael Gonzalez Almazan (Madrid, Spain) posted victories in consolation singles action at Aztec Tennis Center.

Hough improved to 3-1 on the weekend after recording a 6-4, 6-4 triumph over Southern Utah's Remus Cope, while Gonzalez Almazan evened his record at 2-2 for the tournament, emerging with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over another Thunderbird adversary Jake Williams.

Grand Canyon's Lucas Grego claimed the Warrior Flight singles title with a 6-2, 6-2 decision over Daniel Gealer of UC Irvine, while fellow teammate Lorenzo Fucile took home the Aztec Flight crown after pinning a 6-4, 6-4 defeat on UCI's Luis Lopez. In the third-place match of the Aztec bracket, GCU's Mathieu Rajaonah knocked off Pacific's Tadiwa Chinamo by a 6-0, 6-4 tally.

In main draw doubles play, the Southern Utah pairing of Juan Erro and Jonathan Morales captured the Black Flight championship in nail-biting fashion, edging UCI's Daniel Gealer and Bruce Man-Son-Hing in a tiebreaker 7-6(6), while USD's Noah Dufort and Pratt Keerasuntonpong took care of business in their third-place battle, dispatching UC San Diego's Sahm Irvine and David Higgins by a 6-3 margin.

San Diego State returns to the courts later this month when it travels up the coast to participate in the ITA Southwest Regional Championships, Oct. 17-22, on the campus of Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.
