SAN DIEGO – San Diego State baseball, winners of five of the last six Mountain West Championships, has released its 2019 schedule. The Aztecs open their season on Feb. 15, 2019 with the opener of a three-game series against San Francisco. In addition to a 30-game conference schedule, notably SDSU will host 2018 College World Series participant Texas Tech for a two-game series on March 5-6 and travel to defending national champion Oregon State on April 2-3.
The Aztecs open its season with eight consecutive home games, including co-hosting the Tony Gwynn Legacy tournament from Feb. 22 – 24. The Aztecs will face a trio of power 5 programs during the Tony Gwynn Legacy, including Utah, Oklahoma, and Kansas State. SDSU closes February hosting crosstown foe San Diego on Feb. 26.
Mountain West play begins on March 1 at Air Force where the Falcons host the Aztecs for a three-game series in Colorado Springs. SDSU then begins a five-game homestand, starting with Texas Tech on March 5 before a three-game home series against Nevada starts on March 8. Conference play in March also features a three-game series at New Mexico (March 22-24) and a home series against Fresno State (March 29-30), in addition to home non-conference contests against CSUN (March 12), Seattle U (March 15-17), Arizona (March 25), and Cal Baptist (March 26).
The Aztecs kickoff April with its longest road trip of the season, starting with a two-game midweek series at defending national champion Oregon State on April 2-3. The first week of April concludes with a three-game series at Nevada. SDSU then has a run of five consecutive non-conference games against Southern California opponents, including a home game against Loyola Marymount on April 9, a three-game road series at Cal State Fullerton from April 12-14, and a road contest at UC Irvine on April 16. SDSU finishes April with a home series against Air Force (April 18-20), a crosstown trip to San Diego (April 23), and a road series at UNLV (April 26-28).
SDSU plays seven of its final 10 games at home, beginning with a three-game series against San Jose State starting on May 3. SDSU plays its final non-conference game of the season against BYU on May 5 before concluding the regular season at Fresno State from May 10-12 and at home against New Mexico from May 16-18.
The Mountain West Championships will be held May 23-26 with a location to be announced. SDSU is looking to reach its sixth NCAA tournament in the last seven years, and NCAA Regional play will run from May 31 – June 3. Super Regionals are held from June 7-10, with the College World Series running from June 15 – 26 in Omaha, Neb.
SDSU returns five starting position players and a trio of starting pitchers from the 2018 roster, including all-conference outfielders Chad Bible and Julian Escobedo, and consensus freshman all-American relief pitcher/infielder Casey Schmitt. The Aztecs, which start fall practice this Friday, have 16 newcomers featured on the 2018 fall roster.

- The Aztecs play each of their first eight, 13 of their first 16, and 16 of their first 20 games at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Aztecs also conclude the season with seven consecutive home games and play 32 of their 56 regular-season games at home. SDSU went 25-10 at home last season, which included three wins en route to winning the Mountain West Championship.
