SAN DIEGO - San Diego State is featured in Lindy's Sports College Basketball magazine, which has senior guard Devin Watson as one of four players on the cover.
As a team, Lindy's Sports has SDSU making the 2019 NCAA tournament by way of an at-large bid, while ranking the Aztecs No. 33 nationally. The publication also has SDSU finishing in second place in the Mountain West.
Two Aztecs were chosen for the magazine's preseason all-conference team. Sophomore forward Jalen McDaniels was selected to the first team, with Watson earning third-team honors.
McDaniels was also ranked No. 105 in Lindy's Top 150, after averaging 12.6 points and 8.5 rebounds in conference play last season.
In addition to his spot on the preseason all-conference third team, Watson was named the Mountain West's "Top Playmaker" by the publication.
As for the Aztecs' first-year players, Lindy's tabbed freshman Nathan Mensah as the "Best Rebounder" among the conference newcomers and Ed Chang as the team's "Top Newcomer."
SDSU is in the midst of its preseason preparations and will be in action on Nov. 1, when it plays host to Chaminade in its lone exhibition game of the season. The Aztecs will officially start their campaign on Nov. 6, when they will play Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Viejas Arena.
