The San Diego State cross country team will compete in the Mountain West Championships (6k) this Friday at Morley Field in Balboa Park. This is the first time the MW Championships have taken place in San Diego since 2008. The women's 6k begins at 9:00 a.m. and will be followed by the men's 8k at 9:45 a.m.

Boise State (No. 2) and New Mexico (No. 3) are the both ranked in the top five nationally and will enter the race as the favorites.

At the moment, 11 runners are registered to run: Paige Comiso, Caitlyn Couch, Marissa D'Atri, Isabelle Davis, Alize Hartke, Renee Laurenzana, Carlene Masar, Natalie Medina, Renee Phillips, Natalie Regalado, and Naomi Smitham.  Only nine runners from each team are allowed to run in the championship meet, so a final decision who will be competing will need to be made later in the week.
