SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women's soccer junior Darcy Weiser has been named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week. The award is the first of the forward's career and the first for the Aztecs in 2018.

Hailing from Huntington Beach, Weiser led SDSU in goals (2), points (4), shots (6; tied) and game-winning goals (1), while producing the second most shots on goal (2; tied), in a week where it tied Colorado College, 1-1, and blanked Air Force, 5-0.

Weiser enjoyed a career day on Sunday vs. the Falcons, scoring a personal-best two goals, including the game-winner in the 41st minute off a feed from Chloe Frisch. Much later, Weiser added her second goal in the 74th minute after faking out the AFA goalkeeper to put her shot into the wide-open net.

The junior's two goals equaled the amount she had coming into the 2018 campaign and put her in a three-way tie for the team lead. Weiser's three goals puts her at the top of the Aztecs' season scoring column along with Laura Fuentes and Phoebe Leitch.

In the game vs. the Tigers on Friday, Weiser played 101 of a possible 110 minutes and took two shots, which was the second-highest total on the team.

Weiser and the Aztecs return to action on Friday night when they play host to New Mexico at 7 p.m. PT. Admission at SDSU Sports Deck is free and the game will stream live on the Mountain West Network.
