FORT COLLINS, Colo. – San Diego State traveled to Fort Collins on Saturday after playing Friday night at home and finished its brief road trip with a 0-0 double-overtime draw at Colorado State. The Aztecs watched their record move to 3-6-1 (1-0-1 Mountain West), while the Rams ended the week at 3-4-3 (0-1-1 MW).
SDSU possessed the ball for most of regulation, regularly spending time in the attacking third. Despite its pressure, San Diego State could not find the back of the net, resulting in overtime.
In the first 10-minute extra period, CSU turned the tables a bit on the Aztecs and put the visitors on their heels. Then as the teams switched ends for the final 10 minutes, San Diego State went back to its regulation ways and applied pressure on the Rams backline. Colorado State, however, had a good look toward the end of game, but Gabby English squashed any thought of a Rams celebration.
CSU outshot SDSU, 14-12, but the Aztecs had more shots on goal (4-3). The Scarlet and Black also had more corner kicks than their hosts, 7-5.
Individually, Mia Root had a game-high-tying three shots with Chloe Frisch adding two of her own. English, who moved into second place on the SDSU career saves list on Friday, had three stops.
NOTE I
The Aztecs are unbeaten in their last six Mountain West regular-season games (5-0-1) and are 7-0-1 in their last eight vs. conference competition (regular season and tournament).

San Diego State played its first overtime game of the season after playing five last year (2-1-2).

SDSU will hit the road again next week with trips to Northern and Central California on deck. First up will be a trip to San José State on Friday night (6:30 p.m. PT) before heading to Fresno State on Sunday (noon PT). Both will stream live on the Mountain West Network.
